If the plan goes through, I wouldn't oppose the idea of having both a north Bloomingdale resident from one ANC and a south Bloomingdale resident from the other ANC on the MAG. That seems to make sense to me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17267242.post-63054082203196320742011-11-30T08:32:52.451-05:002011-11-30T08:32:52.451-05:00The McMillan site is historically and geographical...The McMillan site is historically and geographically a part of Bloomingdale. The residents of Channing St, which should be in the same ANC as the rest of Bloomingdale, face the site.

The land has to fall into some ANC, just as it falls within Ward 5 - it is just not a free parcel floating in DC. My question is - why is everyone asking Bloomingdale to justify keeping McMillan in Bloomingdale? The question is - what is a good reason to cut it out of Bloomingdale?

Would not all of Ward 5 object if the site had been taken out of Ward 5 during the Ward redistricting?????Bloomingdale Residenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09533118011529614380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17267242.post-84951221460208407822011-11-30T08:18:18.643-05:002011-11-30T08:18:18.643-05:00If the proposed plan does go through, and Blooming...If the proposed plan does go through, and Bloomingdale is split, from McMillan, and it's residents that reside on Channing and Bryant Streets.

The BCA MUST be allowed to have at least 2 representatives serving on the MAG.

At the last BCA meeting we were informed that our elected representatives would only be able to serve only if the MAG allows them.

If what CM Thomas says is correct, that our voice will be heard through the BCA - the MAG must accept our representatives.

There is no doubt that the development of this site will have a daily direct impact on the lives of the Bloomingdale residents. Including in times of storms when the intersections of T, Rhode Island and 1st flood due to influx of storm water. Storm water is absorbed at the McMillan site because most of it is dirt and grass - cover that with concrete and buildings, it's all going to come down hill.

No to mention the increased traffic that the development will bring along with it increased cars means lack of parking.

You can't tell me that the Bloomingdale neighborhood that has had an interest in the McMillan site, for at least 90 years - shouldn't be able to keep it within it's ANC boundaries.Jeremyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15853485312848896618noreply@blogger.com
