A D.C. area man on Wednesday admitted guilt in the fatal beating of a popular local actress and yoga instructor on Christmas day last year.
Duane Adrian Johnson, 29, was a stranger to Tricia
McCauley, and police believe he confronted her as she was headed to a holiday
party with fellow members of the District’s theater scene. But the 46-year-old
McCauley never arrived and friends began to worry and reported her missing.
McCauley’s mangled body was found in the back seat of her
white Scion nearly two days later. She had been brutally beaten, strangled, and
her legs had been bound with a seat belt, police said.

If this guy only 29 years old, a psychotic homicidal rapist, gets 30 years and is eligible for parole earlier, we all, especially women should live in fear of that day. Something is very WRONG with the Justice System. He needs to get LIFE! Hinkley has been in prison/hospital for shooting Reagen, who survived. We watch 6 Baltimore police officers break Freddie Gray's neck, on video! Then the prosecutors and the media lie continuously, and make up a false story about tumbling around in the van. The biggest lie EVER. The DC evening news continues that lie even today. So the officers don't go to trial,, what the hell is going on?
ReplyDeleteWhat we need to do as a community, or even as individuals, is to write a so-called community impact statement to the court. I doubt that it will have much effect since the parents, or rather the father from what I gather from the Washington Post article, have a simply agreed to the 30 year sentence.
DeleteAs you pointed out, in Washington, a 30 year sentence does not mean 30 years but more like 15. It is truly Beyond belief, and we are sadly no safer.
The Justice system is a corrupt disaster, if this case and the death Freddie Gray don't prove it???, and so many innocent African-American men and boys and women, and the lady shot todeath in her driveway after calling 911 to report a possible assault, then police assassination. We need major reform from the president down to the precinct. The country has come from so much racism, genocide, to arrive at this level of corruption and disfunction.
ReplyDeleteCitizens must literally take over. OVERTHROW!
