HPO staff report for the 1600 North Capitol Street NW development project issued: "find the concept generally compatible with the character of the Bloomingdale Historic District"

The DC Historic Preservation Office (HPO) has issued its staff report for 1600 North Capitol Street NW -- the Joe Mamo lot at North Capitol Street NW and Florida Avenue NW.

Note that the Bloomingdale Civic Association voted against the proposed building design.  And note that ANC5E subsequently went against the will of the BCA's vote and voted for the proposed building design.

The HPO staff report finds the concept generally compatible with the character of the Bloomingdale Historic District.  

Next step: presentation at the DC Historic Preservation Review Board (HPRB).
