At a community meeting with joe mamo, the owner of the lot at north cap and florida trader joes was mentioned.
He seemd to think that he wasnt able to offer enough square footage for them. i dont really know if that is true, or how much they require.
Also, his aspirations for the property didn't strike me as that progressive or inspiring. Probably rental units. and underground parking if feasible. 3 small retail parcels. Still, that was a while ago.
i'd take 14th and v over foggy bottom or old town.
...also... i would be wiling to help out with trying to get a trader joes ( or something akin) in Bloomingdale itself. i know the north cap economic revitalization committee would be interested.
14th and V isn't exactly in our hood. How about Trader Joe's in Bloomingdale? Maybe at North Capital and Florida? Another campaign, perhaps....
