So what do people think about Parker Flats now that it's nearing completion? I sort of like the brick and large divided windows. But the mansard roof with the windows looks a little weird.
i dont really know. i havent heard many people talkng about it.
i 'm certain that the school being fixed up is terrific, but the loss of a large green space may not be too cool for the surrounding neighbors.
i actually like the mansard roof part, and since there are a number of 19th century buildings in the hood with that design, its seems to flow well. i find it far more attractive than most new construction happening nearby anyway.

it was a decaying asphalt field surrounded by a ramshackle rusty tall chain-link fence and no trespassing signs, not a park. i live across the street and am absolutely amazed at how well this project came out especially compared to some of the crap they are building around here. I dealt with the vacant lot for three years before they started on this and am LOVING it.
I looked at their model condo, in the next section behind the old school. It was unimpressive and very overpriced. The stairwells were made of cinder blocks painted white, which made it look cheap. I have a feeling they wil remain unsold for a long time. 400k for a small modern condo, in this neighborhood is not a bargain, nor a good idea, in my opinion!
