My Comcast-installed wireless network in my house needs upgrading but I don`t want to pay Comcast to come do it again. I just need a geek who knows how to work with Comcast broadband and also knows what to buy to hook up a desktop that is not wireless-capable.
I`m looking references, if anyone in the neighborhood can suggest someone.
What do you mean by 'upgrading'? If you want a faster connection you don't need to do anything local. Just call up comcast and upgrade your plan. The wireless router should be capable of any speeds your cable modem is.
ReplyDeleteDoes it need upgrading, due to wear and tear and it's affecting your connection? Whatever the case may be, feel free to contact us. We'll do our best to help. :)

I'm happy to be a good neighbor and sit down and talk about it. I've now retired from the IT world, but I am still plenty proficient.

If you can provide a bit more context about what exactly you are seeking and your thoughts on cost, I could potentially be of help.
ReplyDeleteSorry I was not clear. Speed is not the issue, it is signal strength and interference. My router/wireless is an outdated "B" with a lot of interference. I keep losing the signal on the top floor of my house, although this is just one story above the device. I'm guessing I need something a decade newer installed, like a "G" or "N" And, I need someone smart enough to know if I need a repeater on the top floor. And, nothing against you Comcast, but you charged far too much and gave me all kinds of grief when I bought rather than rented the device. I would rather not deal with Comcast if I can avoid it.
