From ANC 5C04 Commissioner John Salatti:
If neighbors have issues or concerns about Walmart coming to Ward 5, a group has formed called Ward 5 Concerned Citizens about Walmart. The group is meeting regularly to bring their concerns to the table. I include here a notice about W5CCAW`s upcoming June meetings.
I`d also like to hear what residents think pro or con. Because ANC 5C has not yet been asked to review this development project and because I am still forming an opinion about the project, I need to know what people in Bloomingdale think about it.
Have a great day,
John

John,
ReplyDeleteWe will try to attend at least a session. I'm not privy to the desired location within the ward but my short answer input - if it means more jobs for those in ward 5 that need them, then welcome.
Jamey
Thanks, Jamey! The Ward 5 location is within the triangle bounded by New York Avenue, Montana Avenue, and Bladensburg Road. Check out this link from March with some of the plans and descriptions as well as a link to a Powerpoint presentation: http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/blogs/housingcomplex/2011/03/25/ward-5-walmart-gets-marginally-less-horrible/.
