I rarely eat dinner late this evening. However, I made an exception this evening and strolled over to Beau Thai, 1700 New Jersey Avenue NW. I have to confess that I had never dined there before --my first visit.
I didn't realize that Shaw resident Ralph Brabham was an owner (and general counsel, according to his LinkedIn entry) of Beau Thai.
Anyway, I had the Beau Thai chicken, which comes with rice, green beans and garlic sauce. For dessert, I had the Mango Stick Rice. Both were absolutely delicious.
I have heard the rave comments about Beau Thai for a long time now. And now I know why most patrons rave about it!
I am adding Beau Thai to my list of preferred walkable restaurants!
We love Beau Thai! Food is yummy, Aschara is always so welcoming, and it is a nice little stroll home on R. The brunch is great, too. Always fun to see Ralph when he is behind the bar.
ReplyDeletelove it. After a long day at work, it is pretty easy to "beau thai it" as we have started saying around here. We got beef drunken noodle by mistake once and when we called, they sent what we originally ordered by car and let us keep the drunken noodle. We love it so much now we are getting it along with everything else.
ReplyDeleteWow I totally missed you because I got a take away order there yesterday. Yes, I was being lazy and I didn't want to cook.
ReplyDeleteWe're pretty lucky to have both Beau Thai and Thai crossing in the neighborhood. These are the best Thai places I've ever been!
ReplyDeleteI echo the rave reviews for Beau Thai! Excellent food and great service! I met the proprietor years ago when she was a waitress at Rice. She was so gracious and kind. I'm so happy she has her own wonderful place in our hood.
