I'd
like to put in a plug for New Reservoir Market, the convenience store at the
corner of First and U Streets NW -- the one with the great mural. Tadesse the proprietor is always super
friendly and helpful, he has a surprisingly large selection, and his prices are
good.
Its a pity because the trash that accumulates in front of the market really takes over the great mural. Please, Mr Tadesse, keep the front of your establishment clean and encourage your patrons not to trash our beautiful neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. It would be great if businesses in the area took more responsibility for maintaining cleanliness in front of their establishments. It's the least they could do, especially since their establishments are the source of the bags, lottery tickets, candy and pastry wrappers, napkins, beer cans, etc that are part of the permanent landscape of the neighborhood. Such a shame...
ReplyDeleteThis "store" and the one just across the street are a constant source of trash and trouble for the neighborhood. There is people loitering in front of these hideous "stores" all the time, treating the sidewalks like dumpsters and conducting all sorts of dealing with people pulling their cars in front of the stores. Its time for these stores to disappear, they don;t provide any good service to the community.
