Because I suspect that many Bloomingdale residents are not paying too much attention to all of the current DC Water info, perhaps it would be helpful to chunk it up a bit.

What Are The Project Benefits?

Spring 2014 -- McMillan Stormwater Storage comes online

• Some reduction in sewer backups and surface flooding
• Greatest benefit for properties north of V Street

Spring 2016 -- First Street Tunnel comes online

• Significant reduction in sewer backups and surface flooding
• Benefit for properties throughout Bloomingdale and LeDroit Park

2022 -- Northeast Boundary Tunnel completion

• Further reduction in sewer backups and surface flooding
• Benefits many chronic flood areas in the Northeast Boundary sewer shed
