Teri Janine Quinn: Thank you to all residents who helped make the Bloomingdale Beautification Day a success!

See this message from Teri Janine Quinn, President, Bloomingdale Civic Association:

Thank you to all the residents who helped make the Bloomingdale Beautification Day a success! Around 60-65 residents signed in for the event but many more participated. Whether you worked in our business corridor, in tree boxes on your block or simply spruced up your own yard, we appreciate your willingness to help make our neighborhood a little more beautiful. Please help us keep an eye on the new plants we planted and make sure they are watered regularly.

Zach Sherif, the Bloomingdale Civic Association Beautification Committee Chair, and the committee members/volunteers (especially Basem Saah, Albert Hopper and Mat Bader - I'm sure Zach has a more extensive list of volunteers) did an outstanding job organizing this event. This was Zach's first event as Chair and given how successful it was, we are certainly looking forward to what he plans for us next. We would also like to thank our local businesses that helped support this event: Baccio (sponsored our pizza party after the event and provided pizza and drinks), Sunset Liquors (donated water), Windows Cafe (provided baked goods & coffee), Uncle Chips Cookies (provided baked goods) and Rustik Tavern (allowed us to display our event banners and signs). We are also grateful for the assistance of DPW, 5th District MPD, NoMa BID and the Keep America Beautiful Great American Clean Up program for assisting us with the event. Thank you, David Lippe, for lending your photography skills. Last but not least, thank you ANC 5E for providing $1,000 worth of plants and supplies, Commissioner Foster for coordinating the production of our gorgeous (and reusable) beautification day banner and Commissioner Mueller (and Charles!) for delivering our plants & for getting out of bed at 7:30am to go with me to Home Depot to pay for the ANC 5E supplies!

Best,

Teri Janine Quinn
