Subject: [BloomingdaleActionList] Results of Friends of McMillan Park Meeting with CM McDuffie on 3 June 2013
Today a delegation from Friends of McMillan Park met with Councilmember McDuffie, delivered a thick stack of signed petitions, and talked through the attached agenda.
Attendees: CM McDuffie, Stephanie Liotta-Atkinson, Jon Mandel, Gwen Southerland, Tony Norman, John Salatti, Patrick Hudak, Kirby Vining, Hugh Youngblood
The big takeaway from the meeting was that CM McDuffie clarified his position that regardless of how many of his constituents oppose the VMP plan, he will continue to support the VMP plan. Please keep this in mind when he comes up for re-election in November.
We look forward to hearing your testimony this Thursday night at the McMillan Park Surplus meeting starting at 630pm at All Nations Baptist Church. Please see the attached flyer for details about the event.
Thank you,
Hugh

CM McDuffie advises that he did not make these statements at this meeting.
ReplyDeleteHe probably wouldn't come out and say exactly what they wanted him to say so thus they decide to say he is in favor. I hope he is in favor of it. The fact that he lives directly across from the development makes it even more relevant if he is in favor. Good for you McDuffie for not giving into these people who try to speak for the entire neighborhood but are only represent a very small fraction of it.
