another Pepco power outage in LeDroit Park (and perhaps parts of Bloomingdale)

It appears that the southern half of LeDroit Park and Truxton Circle area south of Rhode Island Avenue NW  has lost power.   The traffic signals at Rhode Island Ave NW and New Jersey Ave NW and at 3rd & Rhode Island Ave NW are out.

You can view the Pepco power outage map here

One neighbor indicated that the Pepco website projected that power would be out until 2 am.

A LeDroit Park neighbor with insulin, which needs to be refrigerated, asked what she should do with her insulin?  Would a cooling center be able to refrigerate her insulin until the power is restored?

Subject: Re: [LeDroitPark] Anyone knows why the power is still out..

Over half of LeDroit Park is still without power.  Per Pepco, it was to be restored by 6pm today - it's now  after 9pm!
We have requested and update from Pepco on exactly when power will be restored.  Will keep you posted!!

Also - If you live near any residents without power who are elderly or have small children, please consider a quick check in to make sure they are ok.  If you notice anything suspicious, do not hesitate to call 911.
