"The MindMixer Page" oh boy!! And that's not condescending and patronizing? Dear friends in Bloomingdale, Office of Planning kept Brooklanders busy at "so called" community input meetings for two years. They then ignored all of our input and sincere recommendations for more green space, to save neighborhood character, preserve historic fabric, and are cynically ignoring every ones input to save "The Brookland Green". The green is our only postage stamp of community greenspace and mature trees at the metro. Every single resident supports preserving our "Green". As if we have to tell these "Planners" to do appropriate, objective urban planning, and not just SHILL for the developers greed.
ReplyDeleteThe Brookland SAP had a ridiculous set of "guiding principals about preservation, neighborhood character, enhancing and increasing parks,, etc. Dear friends, not a single "guiding principal" is being followed in the massive onslaught of mega-development paving over the neighborhood. Not at CUA, not at 901 Monroe, where even the miserable little Col. Brooks Tavern is gone, and not at the Metro either.
The SAP recommended building over the "Green" at the metro, an affront to everyone who lives here.. All the ANC were unanimous , to reject the hypocritical farce., the pathetic arrogant City Council voted unanimously to approve the SAP. I am sure they never even visited the Brookland metro, or could care less about how denuded and asphalted our neighborhood becomes.
Then to top it off, OP had a series of "dog and pony" shows, called Implementation Task Farce, where Debra Crain-Kemp and other "planners" led useless, irrelevant meetings to keep the sincere active few from accomplishing anything real for Brookland. I asked ,"where is one email, one letter, one phone call to WMATA, about saving the Brookland Green, NOTHING,the deer in the headlights. Good Luck, maybe you won't experience such outright fraud, or they'll give you similar irrelevant meetings to side track what's important to people, while your homes keep flooding from THEIR super-urbanization.
