participate in the McMillan Community Benefits Agreement discussion -- special Bloomingdale Civic Association meeting -- Saturday afternoon, 03-08-2014

Hello Neighbors--

The McMillan Advisory Group and ANC 5E have asked the Bloomingdale Civic Association to provide a prioritized list of recommendations of items that should be included in the McMillan Benefit Agreement.  These benefits are viewed as a means for mitigating some of the  negative community impacts resulting from the development of  the McMillan Sand Filtration site, which as presently proposed would involve more than 2 million square feet of commercial, retail and residential development as well as a community center and a 4 - 5 acre park., and bring at least 3500 people into our community on a daily basis.

When:    Saturday, March 8, 2014
                 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm

Where:   St. George's Episcopal Church
                  2nd and U Streets NW

What:     Special Bloomingdale Civic Association meeting solely devoted to the developing and prioritizing its recommendations for the Community Benefits Agreement.

Attached to this message is a preliminary listing of potential benefits for your consideration.  If you wish to add additional potential benefits, please contact bhollidaypsy@gmail.com by MARCH 4.  The resulting final listing will serve as the primary document for discussion and prioritization at the March 8 Special  Meeting.

We need your input!!

  1. Thanks, Bertha! Glad to see some suggestions have been incorporated into the CBA worksheet.

For the record - my suggestion to have a apace available to the community in one of the high rise buildings did not include the suggestion to house an ANC office there. I was envisioning a conference type space that would be used by the offices as well as the community for meetings and social events. If space was made available for an ANC office, I think it would work better in the community center.
