three-car crash on the 100 block of W Street NW today -- now that 1st & V Street NW is closed, new traffic pattern that drivers have to get used to

DC Water closed the intersection of 1st & V Street NW today.  

Vehicles driving southward on 1st Street NW have to either turn left on the unit block of W Street NW or right on the 100 block of W Street NW.

Similarly, vehicles driving northward on 1st Street NW have to either turn left onto the 100 block of U Street NW or right on the unit block of U Street NW.

So there are new traffic patterns that drivers who use 1st Street NW north of Rhode Island Avenue NW need to get used to.
                                                                 
In any event, we had our first fender-bender on the 100 block of W Street NW this afternoon that involved MPD and an ambulance.
