The land give-away to the development conglomerate requires the Mayor to declare "there is no longer any public use for the land".

Please include all your expected uses and activities, recreation and cultural, for 25 acres of prime green park space in this area, and show up the obvious lie!

It is his fence and barbed wire that kept us off our green park land since 1986!

Please see the Feb. 11, 2014  City Council hearing video below, Brookland residents, landscape architect Mary Pat Rowan and historic restoration artist Daniel Wolkoff testify to Muriel Bowser Chair of the City Council Committee on Economic Development. This link goes to the testimony exposing city funded "astroturf" campaign, attempts to "neutralize opposition", and "create impression of community support for the development plan"" and Mr. Wolkoff discusses common sense adaptive re-use for our McMillan Park.

From longtime Brookland activist and resident Jeff Wilson,

"I just went to YouTube and watched the testimony.  Well done Mary Pat and Daniel.

Muriel Bowser really should respond to the questions posed to her in connection with McMillan.  With her non response, we get a sense if the kind of mayor she might be...

Sincerely,
Jeff Wilson"

Urban agriculture on a mass scale will be lost when they demolish the 20 acres of caverns, a wrong headed loss of an incredible benefit to our city. The propose McPark , a lawn in front of condos and offices, will not be a Glen Echo arts/educational campus for our families, or a Wolf TrapDC, for outdoor concerts and festivals.

Please see this fascinating video: Indoor Farming, 5 times the yield of surface farms, one tenth the water consumption, no pesticides, no truck transport from California and Mexico, riper fresher food, even fresh Tilappia!!!
