Recent News
In January I gave a presentation on my artwork at a Textile Museum talk titled Knitting as Contemporary Art, with Jennifer Lindsay. In preparing for this talk I was inspired to divide the themes of my artwork into 4 categories—Synchronicity, Memory, Identity and Community—and I've since updated my website to reflect this.
Also in January, I was a part of an exhibition at George Washington University titled Soft Lab, curated by Eames Armstrong.
Notebook: Machu Picchu
Just returned from a trip to Peru where it was summer and I loved Machu Picchu so much I visited twice. On my second visit up, I caught a 5:30am bus ride so I'd be there right when the site opened at 6am. I found my way to this one spot where I sat forever, on Incan ruins on the way up to Intipunku [Sun Gate], where the Inca Trail ends and Machu Picchu begins. Every time I thought it was time to move on, I'd walk around the ruins, then crawl through an ancient wall to get to my stuff, and see this view again and just had to sit for a little while longer. This went on for a few hours! Here's a drawing from this time sitting there. For more images from my Peru adventure, please visit my Instagram.
