DC’s Sexiest Tea Shop to Hold Special Preview Tasting this Thursday
Calabash Tea & Tonic, back-to-back “Best of DC” winner, will hold a special tasting event this Thursday to preview its new Shaw location.  Calabash “TeaEO” Dr. Sunyatta Amen has remade an historic storefront into an exotic and magical space.
“We want our customers to be transported the moment they walk in the door,” said Amen, a local radio and TV personality well-known for her focus on natural health.  “The goal of all our efforts is to calm and revitalize the mind, body and spirit, and we really believe the new shop does that.”
Calabash features dozens of hand-blended, locally-crafted fair-trade teas and an array of delectable treats that benefits from Amen’s decades of experience as a vegetarian chef.
The special preview event will feature a $10 tasting menu including Amen’s award-winning Love Potion #10 chai (made from her Grandmother’s recipe), Kombucha on tap, mouth-watering veggie samosas, and jaw-dropping Jamaican jerk chili.
“Part of what we want to do with both the space and our tea is to stimulate all the senses, and to make healthy living also sexy living,” said Amen.  “I’m aiming to take ‘healthy’ out of Birkenstocks and slide it into stilettos.”
Come join Calabash for this special event on Thursday and experience that transformation for yourself.
