MPD came out. DC Water isn't backing

Whoa it's out of control today. 34 concrete
trucks apparently and they are just letting them sit in front of our houses.
First Street Tunnel hotline hung up on me when I said this is totally unacceptable, among a few other things. I called 911. Doubt any good will come but worth a try.

ReplyDeleteSave 911 for a real emergency
Why would you cite a link from a city in Washington state? Here in DC (WHERE WE LIVE) 911 is what you call any time you need a response from a police officer.
ReplyDeleteActually, my understanding is that's what 311 is for: non-emergency city services.
DeleteIdling vehicles seems not to constitute the kind of emergency that 911 is designed for: http://ouc.dc.gov/page/911-emergency-services.
I've in the past called 311 when crummy contractors have blocked up our block and alleys working on one of the many gut/flip jobs for days on end. They send out ddot for that issue, not MPD. And it's been (moderately) helpful.
there's no getting around how all the construction is negative on the neighborhood; dirt, dust, fumes from trucks, NOISE, traffic back-ups, less parking spaces, litter, bright orange plastic things, and have others notice the strange smells occasionally.
