Are you a big fan of Mt. Pleasant?

Join local historian Mara Cherkasky for an hour-long walking tour of the neighborhood next Saturday, March 19!

*No reservations needed; great for all ages. Mara and the group will meet at the Mt. Pleasant Library at 2 pm and will return to the library at 3 pm.

Mara Cherkasky is a historian focusing on Washington DC, co-founder of Prologue DC, LLC, and one of three collaborators on the public history project Mapping Segregation in Washington DC. With Cultural Tourism DC she helped research, write, and produce a dozen Neighborhood Heritage Trails, starting with Village in the City: Mount Pleasant Heritage Trail (2006) and ending with An East-of-the-River View: Anacostia Heritage Trail (2015).

   
Other work focusing on Mount Pleasant history includes an Arcadia book (2007), a chapter in Washington at Home: An Illustrated History of Neighborhoods in the Nation’s Capital (2010), a slide show, and numerous walking tours. More on her work is at http://prologuedc.com/ .
