Arrests Made in Several Offenses in the Fifth District

(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fifth District announced three arrests have been made in reference to several offenses which occurred at the following locations:                              

Burglary Two: On Monday, June 6, 2016, 52-year-old Sheldon White, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Burglary II.
  • The offense occurred in the 1600 block of New York Avenue, Northeast, on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at approximately 1:42 am. CCN: 16-087-565
    • Two male suspects entered the location by removing a glass window, and stole currency from an ATM machine. 
Armed Carjacking: On Saturday, June 4, 2016, 22-year-old Donte Timmons, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking.
  • The offense occurred in the 3300 block of 7th Street, Northeast, on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at approximately 2:40 am. CCN: 16-048-488
    • The victim was sitting in his car within the block, when three male subjects armed with handguns, approached the victim. The suspects then forced the victim out of his vehicle, and fled the scene in his car.
Receiving Stolen Property: On Monday, June 6, 2016, 43-year-old James Brown, of Lanham, Maryland, was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property in connection with the offense.
  • The offense occurred in the 100 block of Rhode Island Avenue, Northwest, on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at approximately 10:00 pm. CCN: 16-089-474
o   The suspect was in possession of the victim’s bag, which contained a laptop and school books. The bag was stolen from the back seat of the victim’s car.
