Greetings 5D Residents and Community Stakeholders,

Tell YOUR Neighbors, Bring YOUR Family and Friends, See YOU There

On Tuesday, August 2, thousands of DC residents will join with their neighbors, police officers and other community leaders to celebrate National Night Out. From community cookouts to open houses – block parties, candlelight vigils and athletic events – DC is gearing up for the 32nd annual celebration of “America’s Night Out Against Crime.” In addition to the numerous activities at the kickoff event, communities across DC – in all seven police districts – have scheduled NNO events during the late afternoon and evening hours.

What is National Night Out?

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. The National Night Out program culminates annually on the first Tuesday of August (August 2, 2016). **Texas and a select few areas celebrate the first Tuesday of October.
