The amount of work required is a big factor in who you pick. If you just need the mortar removed and replaced but your walls are solid and with no settlement lines, you have a lot of options. If you need sections of brick rebuild because of shifting, or even areas where the bricks bulge because water has gotten behind them, you need to get someone really good. I needed the extra care, and used Edgar's Masonry, and so have several neighbors. They didn't add expenses, the work took exactly as long as they estimated, they were pretty good [but not perfect] on keeping the site clean and they came back to fix things we didn't like. The biggest complaint would be that they are not cheap.
I also used Renaissance. They are specialists in this kind of work and they dealt with all my concerns in a timely fashion. Scheduling around weather is a factor--we had ours done in November/December and rainy days added a lot of extra time to the project.
