oh look: A new McMillan Twitter account called @McMillanParkDC

Look what I just stumbled upon -- a new Twitter account of @McMillanParkDC.

I assume that DMPED created this....yes / no ?

Even if the city did not create this new Twitter account, is it intended to be the new DMPED-blessed Twitter account for the McMillan project?

Here is the associated logo:

I don't see an associated @McMillanParkDC Instagram account.

Here is a sample tweet from Mayor Bowser using the new @McMillanParkDC Twitter account -- regarding the recent McMillan groundbreaking event.

last day to contribute to Crispus Attucks Park for 2016

Consider Crispus Attucks Park as Part of Your Year-End Giving!
Dear Bloomingdale neighbors,

As we near the end of 2016, I ask that you consider Crispus Attucks Park as part of your year-end giving!
Crispus Attucks Park is one of the very few green spaces in Bloomingdale, and a tranquil spot to walk your dog, play with your kids, read a book, lay out in the sun, and spend time with friends.  The park gets no financial support from the DC Government.  The park is run by a neighborhood nonprofit, supported by entirely by the generosity and volunteer work of the Bloomingdale community.

Please consider a tax-deductible donation!

NBC4 Washington: "Friends of Slain Actor, Yoga Instructor Raise Money for Other TheaterProfessionals in Her Memory"

Click on the link to read the entire NBC4 Washington article.

Friends of a D.C. actor and yoga instructor who went missing Christmas Day -- and was later found beaten and strangled to death in her car -- have founded a crowd-funding site in her memory, devoted to paying for health insurance for other D.C. theater professionals.

Friends of Tricia McCauley said on their YouCaring site that Mccauley, who was self-employed, was "often without health insurance."

McCauley eventually qualified for insurance under the Actor's Equity Association union, but others may need help paying premiums. "The intent is to have an ongoing endowment, not a one-time award," the site reads.

As of Friday afternoon, it had raised almost $25,000.

McCauley was reported missing after she didn't appear at a friend's house for dinner on Sunday, then missed a flight the next day. The search for her and her white Toyota Scion IQ lasted until early Tuesday morning.
