Now-Notorious 'Private Investigator' in Seth Rich Case is Unlicensed in D.C.
And Rod Wheeler, the Fox talking head, was fired from MPD.
May 31, 2017 1 PM

Rod Wheeler, the now-notorious Fox News commentator who characterizes himself as a private investigator and whose recent comments fueled conspiracy theories about the murder of former DNC staffer Seth Rich, isn’t even licensed to practice in D.C., and the website for his investigative firm has disappeared from the Internet.

The former Metropolitan Police Department detective has steadfastly refused to answer questions from City Paper about whether he is a licensed private investigator in D.C., which, like many jurisdictions, has strict background and other regulatory requirements overseeing the businesses and individuals in the investigative field.

Good Afternoon Commissioner Sierra,

We are still trying to complete our restoration efforts. However, residents continue to not adhere to the no parking signs. Can you ask residents to help us with our efforts. From what I understand every block between U Street and Channing is having this issue.

Also, the tree plantings and tree box fencing on Adams will be completed between 6/5 to 6/9.

Additionally, there were some questions about Adams Street Alley and Sidewalks. The team is gathering the pre-construction photos and I will let you know if we able to address these.

Thanks, Tanya

MPD’s Weekly Firearm Recoveries:
May 22nd to May 30th

(Washington, DC) – Every day, the Metropolitan Police Department works to recover and investigate illegal firearms in Washington D.C.  In addition to our patrol officers, the Department has specialized units—such as the Gun Recovery Unit (GRU), Criminal Interdiction Unit (CIU), and Crime Suppression Teams (CSTs)—who work tirelessly to safely and respectfully secure illegal firearms and get them off of our streets.  From Monday, May 22, 2017, through Tuesday, May 30, 2017, MPD detectives and officers recovered 30 firearms in the District of Columbia.

Among the firearms recovered were:

Saturday, May 27, 2017

  • A green 9mm  Carrollton handgun was recovered from the 1900 block of 4th Street, Northwest.  CCN: 17-089-476

Sunday, May 28, 2017
  • A black 9mm Ruger handgun was recovered from the Unit block of Florida Avenue, Northwest.  CCN: 17-090-096
Monday, May 29, 2017
  • A black 9mm Taurus Millennium G2 handgun (pictured below) was recovered from the 100 block of Q Street, Northwest.  CCN: 17-090-626
It is one of MPD’s main goals to safely remove illegal firearms from DC streets to reduce crime and the fear of crime in the community.  The responsibility to recover firearms falls on the shoulders of all MPD officers.  We also thank members of the community for their help in creating safe neighborhoods.

The Metropolitan Police Department also recovers firearms with the assistance of anonymous tips made through MPD’s anonymous tip line.  Anyone who has information regarding gun recoveries should call police at 202-727-9099.  Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.  The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $2,500 to anyone who provides information that leads to the recovery of an illegal firearm hidden in the District of Columbia.

Good morning! CADC hopes everyone had a nice Memorial Day weekend enjoying Crispus Attucks Park :)
Over the next week or so there will be some new plantings going in on the north side of the Park--near the shaded benches. We'll have lots of spring color with some azaleas and keep with the cool, shady theme with ferns and groundcovers.
When the new plants go in, as with all of the garden areas of the Park, please be respectful and keep kids and dogs out of the garden.
This will be a wonderful green addition to our lovely Park!
