Narcotics and Special Investigations Division Activity Report

(Washington, DC)  – The Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Interdiction Unit and Gun Recovery Unit announced recent arrests that have been made in cases in the District of Columbia.

Criminal Interdiction Unit Arrests:

• On Saturday, May 27, 2017, members were patrolling in the 1900 block of 4^th Street, Northwest.  CCN: 17-089-476.  The following person was arrested:
• 37-year-old Tyrone Smith, of Northwest, DC, for Carrying a Pistol Without a License, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and No Permit.

Gun Recovery Unit Arrests: 

• On Sunday, May 28, 2017, members were patrolling in the Unit block of Florida Avenue, Northwest.  CCN: 17-090-096.  The following person was arrested:
• 17-year-old Juvenile Male, of Northwest, DC, for Carrying a Pistol Without a License, Unregistered Firearm, and Unregistered Ammunition.

• On Monday, May 29, 2017, members conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Q Street, Northwest.  CCN: 17-090-626.  The following persons were arrested:
• 31-year-old Michael Smith, of Northwest, DC, for Carrying a Pistol Without a License, Unlawful Possession of a Pistol, Unregistered Firearm, and Unregistered Ammunition.
• 23-year-old Antwan Gilmore, of Northwest, DC, for Carrying a Pistol Without a License, Unlawful Possession of a Pistol, Unregistered Firearm, and Unregistered Ammunition.

The Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate these offenses.
