As an ANC Commissioner with a
district in which many restaurants are located, I am accustomed to hearing
complaints from residents related to trash and rat control procedures of some
of our small businesses. Below is a grant opportunity that might help solve
many of those problems.

Compactor grant
· Provides up
to $13,500 to help DC businesses purchase or lease a
commercial waste compactor (for trash, recyclables and/or compost)
· Open to DC
businesses (incorporated as for-profit with DC business license)
· Part of
the Commercial Waste Compactor Pilot Program, which includes education
and guidance for business owners provided by Dept. of Health (DOH)
· Grant
Application opens June 30 and closes September 8, 2017 at 2pm
