Shout out to MPD & 911
Woke up this morning to the dog barking furiously at a burglar who was trying to break in through the back door. Police were great - turned up within 5 minutes of me calling 911, searched the property, and were really sweet about calming me down and making me feel okay. 911 stayed on the phone with me the whole time while I was waiting for the police to turn up. All this on top of a wonderful experience with Detective Ferrera a few weeks ago who handled an issue with a mentally unstable neighbor with sensitivity and kindness.
Not really sure what there is to be done about the general issue of alley break-ins in the neighborhood, but - to a person - the police working the street have been a treat to deal with.
