All-Affordable Development Planned for Florida Avenue and Q Street

There has been a lot of
speculation over the years concerning the fate of the long-dormant land at
the corner of Florida Avenue and Q Street NW (map). Now, DC's Department of Housing and Community
Development has announced plans to bring affordable housing to that
intersection.
Mi Casa plans to deliver the Barnett-Adan Apartments,
a 24-unit affordable project, to a 12,000 square-foot lot at the
intersection. The development will have a solar array and will include
ground-floor commercial space, permanent supportive housing, and accessible and
aging-in-place apartments.
