Congratulations to the Washington Capitals on winning the 2018 Stanley Cup Championship

Neighbors,

Our Washington Capitals win over the Vegas Golden Knights is the city's first ever Stanley Cup and the first major sports championship in 26 years. It was amazing to witness our city come together and celebrate such an amazing run to the championship.

The togetherness and positive energy I witnessed while taking part in the championship parade with my Council colleagues truly exemplified a core piece of who we are. I look forward to our city experiencing a summer filled with togetherness and positive energy as we work together to make the District of Columbia a better place for all. #ALLCAPS.

In Service,

Kenyan

Legislative Update

At last week's Council Legislative Meeting, Councilmember McDuffie introduced the above three pieces of legislation in response to recent incidents of gun violence in the District of Columbia. These bills underscore Councilmember McDuffie’s call for a heightened sense of urgency and that the District of Columbia must use all available resources to address the root causes of violence that plague communities across the District. Check Councilmember McDuffie's website for more details on these bills.
