Join Cultivate the City's
interactive workshop and discover the art of making hot sauce from Cultivate
the City's lead farmer, Niraj Ray! Every year, CTC makes several different types
of hot sauces from their unique (and super spicy) fresh peppers, and they are
finally ready to share the knowledge and show you how to design and make your
own! We will start with a quick tour of Common Good City Farm and show some of
the hot peppers currently growing on the farm. We will have a variety of fresh
peppers (Bhut Jolokia, Scorpion, Carolina Reapers, Thai Chili, Jalapeno,
Habanero, Aji Charapita, Aji Amarillo, Aji Chombo, and more) to choose from to
make the hot suace and jump right into making some blends. You'll learn about
some of the secret ingredients that make their way into most of our sauces and
the flavor profiles of different peppers and how to make a shelf-stable product
with minimal processing. Finally you'll get a chance to sample everyone's
creations, as well as taste the new hot sauces we've been cooking up for 2019!
