In a year that has maybe been the most difficult ever for the restaurant industry, it may seem counterintuitive to be throwing a gala to celebrate restaurants. But Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington doesn't plan to shy away from that fact at this year's RAMMY Awards, CEO Kathy Hollinger said Monday.

               

The 38th annual ceremony honoring the regional industry's best has been postponed from the end of July to a fall date still yet to be determined. But Hollinger and her team at RAMW, which hosts the awards show, decided to go ahead with a virtual announcement of the 2020 nominees in order to provide a moment of uplift in otherwise tough times.
