Hard to believe another week has gone by but indeed how time marches on! For the orchard, that means another apple variety to bring this week: PAULA RED. Paula Red apples are an attractive apple, reminiscent of the more well-known McIntosh. They have white juicy flesh with a sweet-tart flavor profile. We suggest you keep these in the fridge as they will get soft if left a room temperature but will keep very well in a fridge! 

Perfect for eating and for using in sauce, pies combined with EarliGold and Zesta! as well as cobblers and crostadas. 

Going to market this week: 

Apples: EarliGold, Pristine, Zesta! and Paula Red. Fresh Picked Fruit: Blueberries, Blackberries, Methley Sugar Plums, Peaches: Red Haven Yellow Peaches, White Lady White Peaches, Summer Beauty Yellow Nectarines, Jade White Nectarines, Saturn White Donut Peaches. Fresh Picked Vegetables: Green and Yellow Beans; Italian Cocazella Zuchini, Green Zucchini, Golden Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Patty Pan Sqush, Pickling Cucumbers, Slicing Cucumbers, Green Bell Potatoes, Colored Peppers, Sunsugar Cherry Tomatoes, Cherry Tomatoes, Heirloom Tomatoes. Plants from the Green House: African Blue Basil, Genovese Sweet Italian Basil, Lemon Basil, Thai Basil, Prostrate Rosemary, Greek Oregano, Hot & Spicy Oregano, Italian Oregano, Green Sage, Purple Sage, Golden Sage, Chives, Lemon Grass, Lemon Verbena, Lemon Balm, English Thyme, Golden Lemon Thyme, Curry Plant, Italian Parsley, Curled Parsley, Sweet Marjoram, Spearmint, Kentucky Colonel Mint, Mojito Mint, Chocolate Mint, Peppermint, Dill, Cilantro, Catmint, Catnip, Canned Goods: Locally sourced honey: Wildflower, Clover and Buckwheat in one and 5 pound jars. Apple butters and pumpkin butter. No Sugar Applesauce. Light syrup canned peach halves. Apple Cider in glass 1/2 gallon growlers. Everything we grow is hand-picked, hand sorted, and hand packed. Our farm practice in Integrated Pest Management/Sustainable Practices. Our farm is a certified FSMA farm...FSMA = Food Safety Modernization Act so you can be assured that our produce is not only fresh when it is offered for sale at market but has been grown with good agricultural practices in the filed and orchard as well as handled safely in our storage, packing house and market trucks. We consider food safety our responsibility as stewards of the earth and farmers in the field.
