Warehousing properties and making the area blighted is a calculated part of gentrification, and transfer of land and wealth from the public to the private corporate profit.
At McMillan they still, managed to spend $250,000 a year on a contract with Spectrum Management, a maintenance contractor, that is $1000 a day,, and its "not corrupt". The almost $10 million DC govt paid and WASTED for 33 years, is atrocious, the handling of this green space ATROCIOUS! not a recommendation to have this miserable city govt run anything. consecutive corrupt DC administrations collude with "insider" private corporate development conglomerate to STEAl our land. desperately needed for our public needs.
