UBE 2021 REVIVAL PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, we give you thanks for guiding the hearts of our UBE Leaders to bring a Revival into your Episcopal Church. We bring before You our UBE Revival, July 27th – 30th asking that you pour out Your Holy Spirit upon us like a mighty flood into the hearts of all Your people, who will attend: Including our youths, our young adults and our adults. Lord touch the hearts of all our speakers as they prepare for their sermons and presentations, especially our preachers, presenters, and our Moderators. During this Revival O Lord, may our hearts be washed by the water of your Holy Word as we sing songs of praises that ring out with harmonies of liberty and when we leave this revival may our hearts be filled with the Hope that the present has brought us. Revive your church Dear Lord and help us as we move together facing the rising sun into a brighter future. May the purifying light of Your Holy Spirit cleanse the thoughts, wash the hearts and purify the minds of all our Bishops, Priests, Deacons and Lay People of this Episcopal Church, and then Lord, help us to be a witness to your saving grace as we share You with others. We ask this all in the Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ our Savior, Redeemer and soon coming King. Amen.

                                     - Written by Revival Prayer Chaplain, Rev. Bobbie Knowles

Jesus, may all that is you flow into me.

May your body and blood be my food and drink. May your passion and death be my strength and life. Jesus, with you by my side enough has been given. May the shelter I seek be the shadow of your cross. Let me not run from the love which you offer But hold me safe from the forces of evil. On each of my dyings shed your light and your love. Keep calling to me until that day comes. When, with your saints, I may praise you for ever.

Amen. (1989 Anglican Church of South Africa)

Prayer: The beauty of our Episcopal tradition and the Book of Common Pray is that even if we cannot gather with our church community, we can pray with our church. We can pray together online. We can pray at the same time. We can pray knowing that somewhere in the world, others are saying the same prayers we are. We can pray knowing that we are always joined in prayer with the company of heaven. When we pray, we are never alone.

Please find the Book of Common Prayer online here if you do not have one at home.

Prayers of the People: Please keep me informed of anyone from the parish that we should add to the parish prayer list. Also, please help me with upcoming birthdays and anniversaries as we update our records so that we as a community hold each other in prayer.

Together: Let us ask God to guide us, Jesus to abide in us, and the Holy Spirit to strengthen us. "God of Grace and God of Glory...grant us wisdom, grant us courage for the facing of this hour." (Hymn 594 - The Hymnal 1982)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give you what the world gives you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid. John 14:27

Wishing you the peace of God during this time of anxiety. -- The Rev. Jenkins
