seeking referrals for a structural engineer
See this request from a Rhode Island Avenue NW resident:
I'm looking for a structural engineer to survey a planned basement dig, reinforce 1st floor supports, and create plans to file with the city for my basement remodel.
I did try to contact an engineer from a previous posting but they're not answering.
Years ago I used Wainright Engineering & Consulting at 1324 N LYNNBROOK DR, ARLINGTON, VA 22201-4919. The owner was up there is age, so I don't know if he's retired but he was great.
I have a fantastic guy I've used twice, really really good: George Norton Norton Consulting Engineers, LLC b - (301) 865-6010 c - (240) 393-3672 nortonengineer@gmail.com
I work as a general contractor and we do basement underpinning, renovations, and all construction documentation and design. I can prepare all structural drawings in-house and have them reviewed/stamped by our engineer.
This saves hundreds of dollars in drafting fees, and is fully insured and bonded.
You can see photos of a basement we excavated and renovated here: http://us.3.p8.webhosting.yahoo.com/filemanager
Our engineer was solid: Eugene Collin. genieboy35@comcast.net

ReplyDeleteI recommend Bill Maiden he was the architect for my basement dig out and third floor addition at 68 T NW.
