Going Rustik in Bloomingdale
Published in Coming Soon
Courtesy of Rustic Tavern
Just-opened Bloomingdale arrival Rustik Tavern offers artisanal pizzas fired in a wood-burning oven, plus inexpensive designer sandwiches, small plates and plenty of craft brews and wines; the snazzy-looking digs feature a fanciful mural depicting an Albanian heritage village, windowside tables overlooking the street scene and, by next spring or sooner, a patio – a scarce amenity in this up-and-coming neighborhood.

ok, it's great all all that we have a bar that's getting so much notoriety.
ReplyDeletenow, can we please get one that will actually have available seating when i want to go? this place is just too busy, and more press won't chill that fire. good for them. bad for me.
@ neighborly - All the more reason why we need another 2-3 sitdown restaurants. The demand is obviously there, but the neighborhood critics don't understand simple supply/demand fundamentals, or the basic needs of the residents. Eh, we'll just keep fighting the fight!
ReplyDeleteHey, maybe we should get another dry cleaner in the area instead! Just kidding ;-)
ReplyDeletepreach it. if it was in my blood ( and bank account) i'd try and open up a place.
ReplyDeleteI went into this place on tuesday. It's cute an all, but a bit pricey for a neighborhood spot. All I got was a glass of wine ($5.00) and a pizza ($9.00) after tax & tip, I ended up spending $18+ which sucks during happy hour pricing. The food was good, but the prices can be better. The location good, but I can go to Ella's during HH, and spend $10.00 for the same thing!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree it is a little pricey but I guess that's what happens when you have a monopoly on sit down eateries in Bloomingdale.

ReplyDeleteIt isn't cheap, but at least I don't have to get into my car and drive some where. Or take a taxi or bus... So to pay an additional $ or 2 for a pint it worth it for the time being in my opinion.
They have their kinks, but I know our expectations as a neighborhood are through the roof, since we have been dreaming of a place to eat and drink forever...
close by neighbor ...
ReplyDeletehad their pizza 3x - first 2 were great; the 3rd time, not so much. very pricey, why does the salad and pizza come at the same time. Also are they trying to be a bar or a restaurant? Not enough seating and WAY TOO LOUD to be a neighborhood place
lets be clear, this is a bar, not a restaurant.
ReplyDeletethis is the way it is licensed and named.
I stopped by Rustik last night for the first time. A few observations:
ReplyDelete1) I had a great time. The vibe is perfect.
2) More than half of the patrons were African American.
3) More than half of the patrons were neighborhood residents.
4) I had the lamb pita, which I hightly recommend. The most popular pizza last night appeared to be the Ward 5 pizza.
5) Kudos to Diton and his team for choosing Bloomingdale for Rustik!
are they open for lunch/brunch yet?
