so a report has to go to the Mayor by Dec 31, 2012, apparently, on the causes of Bloomingdale flooding. I'll be interested in reading that!
ReplyDeleteHeads-up for anyone who thinks that FEMA Flood insurance will help, save your money. Unless your basement unit is a walkout (eg above grade on at least one side) FEMA will treat it as a basement. Flood coverage for basements is limited to unpainted drywall and certain appliances like washer, dryer, and water heater. They will not cover personal belongings, flooring, paint, insulation, etc. Only hope for insurance coverage is a homeowners policy with the sewer/sump endorsement.
ReplyDeleteDC Water is expected to announce its "consulting service" and backflow diverter rebate offer on Friday. I think most people may be disappointed when they hear the details.
ReplyDeleteAnnouncement is up!!!
ReplyDeleteI am happy with step one.
