car break-in reported

Hi Neighbors-

          

On Friday evening my brother`s car was broken into when it was parked on the unit block of Adams St NW under a light.   Nothing was stolen from the vehicle but the back passengers side window needs to be replaced. He has out-of-state plates.  When we filed the police report, the officer mentioned several other cars have recently been broken into the neighborhood over the last few weeks including two others that occurred Friday night.  Many of these vehicles had out of state tags.  She has been encouraging residents to be vigilant about leaving nothing in car of value. 

  

The officer also mentioned that victims of crime in our neighborhood are often walking distractedly (on cell phone, listening to IPOD etc.) when they are robbed, assaulted or otherwise targeted and would like to encourage residents to be ever more vigilant.
