Zoning Commission Public Meeting of January 27, 2014
January 27, 2014
Here is the link to the discussion.
It is about 30 minutes long, including the Maxine Brown-Roberts report.

Ahh, see this response from a W Street NW neighbor:
I did watch it, but you might make note that the McMillan portion is the last subject (Case 13-14) and doesn't start until 1:09:00. If folks don't know where it starts and keep hearing all the deadly-dull descriptions of other projects, maybe they're not skipping ahead. I liked Commissioners May (1:24) and Turnbull (1:31:50) comments about the poor architectural designs, especially Turnbull's comments about the Brutalist design of the office (I think) buildings.

You're right, Scott - I hadn't looked. Thanks for the encouragement - it was very interesting. So many things, but a few...
ReplyDeleteDon't recall any conversation to this point about parking for Rec Center.
Also, the comment about whether there is a basis for the number of units for senior housing.is interesting - I think it is an important element, but has anyone studied how much?
And talk of restoring the fountain!!!! Yes!!!!
I think a lot of us watched it. I second the comment about the fountain. I think the questions raised were appropriate to this point in the process, as was the general sense of approval from the zoning commission.
ReplyDeleteGreat! And the need for senior housing in not only our area but the city is greatly need and it's location near a major medical center is a no brainer!
