Why call it the "Neighborhood Protection" Project. If the District government cared about the neighborhood they wouldn't have waited 30 years to "mitigate" the flooding. Maybe if they cared about the people they would have done proper planning and sewer system updating all these decades. The Tunnel is to build Visionless McMillan Partners "Monstrosity on Michigan Avenue". If one single basement in Kalorama had been flooded with sewage, the system would have been rebuilt ASAP. The DC govt. inbred hacks, left us damaged for years. The American Planning Association predicts that the tunnel will not be adequate during heavy rains, rains that go on for more than one day, and where does all the sewage from the VMP project go, and the twice as large AFRH development across Michigan? This is a blatant City Council theft of our land, and massive fraud to VMP, a $billion rip off. Which neighborhood in DC will stand up and offer their green space for a VMP development? They found a neighborhood they could force this on,, it is us. Join the lawsuit to stop this hideous , gargantuan train wreck,,, let's build a Wolf Trap, Library, skating rink and sustainable agriculture,,,on OUR LAND, stop the corporate/government rip off,,support democracy not fascism! The famous views of Bloomingdale from McMillan Park, soon to be a corporate private monstrosity,,Join the lawsuit,,, stop the dc City Council corrupt give-away of a $billion public park.
Wow....what a great opportunity for a whole bunch of popups.
ReplyDeleteNot funny!
DeleteAs penance, please send a letter to the Zoning Commission, supporting a change in R-4 zoning, and get five neighbors to do so, as well. :)
With pleasure....can you provide a contact? T
