So what does this mean and as an abutting property owner - when does my input and consideration of how something this major would be to me? Just curious...
ReplyDeleteI believe the builder was planning to tear down the church and build apartments. I think the church was recently designated as an historic structure so the permit shouldn't have been issued.
ReplyDeleteUnknown: A historic landmark nomination has been *filed* for the building or buildings on this property. The DC Office of Planning Historic Preservation Office (HPO) will review the landmark nomination and produce a staff report, which will either support the landmarking or oppose it. The landmark nomination will be scheduled to be heard before the DC Historic Preservation Review Board (HPRB). The HPRB will decide if the building or buildings should be landmarked. In other words, the church is NOT historically designated at this time. The HPRB hearing info will be posted here at the Bloomingdale Neighborhood blog.
