Thanks to ANC5E06 Commissioner Karla Lewis for holding a SMD Bloomingdale and mp; Bates community meeting last night on a number of topics, including DDOT's 1st Street NW traffic calming.

Very odd. The whole point of bulb outs is to slow traffic in a passive way. I don’t understand the resistance to them. They’re the cheapest and easiest thing to install.

The city is never going to install a camera at every intersection on a street or in a neighborhood. The whole point of changing the streetscape is to encourage safe behavior without the need for constant enforcement.
