agenda for this Monday's Bloomingdale Civic Association meeting

See this announcement & meeting agenda from Teri Janine Quinn:

Please note that due to the holiday, the monthly Bloomingdale Civic Association meeting is being held on the fourth Monday this month. In my last update to the community, I indicated that we expected a representative from Metro to attend the February meeting to discuss the removal of the bus stop at 2nd & Rhode Island Avenue, NW. Metro initially decided to temporarily reestablish the bus stop. Metro has since decided to return the bus stop permanently. As such, there will not be anyone from Metro in attendance to discuss the removal of the bus stop.

harris teeter in NoMa

you know, every time i go to the Giant at Brentwood Shopping Center i vow to never go there again.

i like cooking a lot and i like shopping for food. i go to lots of different places and am not really a big fan "one stop shopping". i try to go to area farmers markets, the florida avenue markets, trader joes, grand mart, shoppers, safeway, whole foods, even costco, glut, a couple of the indian markets in langley park, timor bodega, etc.. i hit them all. but really i only go to the giant when i'm already picking up stuff from home depot, or if i need something quickly, because its the most convenient grocery store to my house.

But at the end of 2010 i wont have to make my convenient runs to giant anymore. i'll have a new grocery store thats closer that i can complain about:

Harris Teeter. will be opening a store at First and M NE.

hopefully it wont be as expensive as the ones i've been to in virginia. ; )

any way check out the great renderings of Constitution Square here

Broadcast Radio One

i havent mentioned broadcast one except maybe when it was first announced. lots of people have covered this as its a pretty big project, pretty important for shaw development, and not as ugly as it could have been. ( i do actually like modern architecture.. just not a lot of DC's modern architecture)

Its not in bloomingdale, though many of you use the shaw metro.

so, here is some info about it.
