It is great to hear of a performance by over 20 classical musicians from Haiti. If you will visit my website wwww.AfriClassical.com you will find biographical profiles on four Haitian classical composers: Justin Elie, Solon Verret, Occide Jeanty and Ludovic Lamothe. Justin Elie was born on Sept. 1, 1883. The anniversary is marked by a post on my blog http://africlassical.blogspot.com/
It provides a link for ordering the CD "Music of the Haitian Masters" from www.cdbaby.com, which also offers an audio sample of the music of Justin Elie.
Again, congratulations on the performance by classical musicians from Haiti.
I believe this 30-plus member Haitian orchestral symphony is actually called "Les Petits Chanteurs." The group is comprised of musicians and singers from Port Au Prince’s Holy Trinity School of Music, a school famous for their music. The group is touring the US in the fall as part of their annual (or so it seems) fundraiser.
