As part of the District's ongoing efforts to make the park at 1st Street and Florida Avenue NW a welcoming spot to all neighborhood residents and especially young children, Mayor Fenty and his Office of Community Relations and Services, along with Councilmember Harry Thomas Jr., the Fifth District of MPD, Advisory Neighborhood Commission 5C, the Bates Area Civic Association, the Bloomingdale Civic Association, and the Department of Parks and Recreation invite you to Octoberfest this Saturday, October 13th from 10:00 to 6:00.

The day will include

* fun with the Skate Mobile. DC Library Mobile, and Old Cars Limited;

* music with musical artists the Randolph Kids Trio, the R Street Music Lab, Joyful Noises, Keyboard Player Billy Wrentz, and Emcee Sheila Queen Poole;

* games from bingo to the MPD basketball team;

* health information and service from Unity Health Mobile and the Howard U Dental School;

* food cooked by the DC Fire and EMS BBQ Grill Crew with their fire truck on hand;

and more!

So enjoy a few hours, see the park, have some fun, and build community.
