I think the pizzas are excellent and have never thought that the mushrooms on the ward five are canned (and I've ordered that pizza half a dozen times now!) However, we ordered the baby octopus last week and it did not taste good AT ALL. So, I'll agree to disagree with Mr. Sietsema.
We had a great meal there on Halloween. Loved the chicory salad and the lamb euro was so good we poured the leftover juice right on our pizza. The crust could be a little crisper, so you don't have to eat it with a fork and knife, but it sure didn't stop me! Overall I am jazzed and excited to have such a bright new spot in our neighborhood.
We love Rustik, but I agree with Sietsema....we are so happy to have Rustik in the neighborhood that we have been willing to overlook the chewy crust...but please consider the criticism as intended...a gentle nudge to improve. Other restaurants will open in Bloomingdale, but we want to make certain that we are visiting Rustik because it is delicious and not because it is our only choice.
I am going again tonight....and look forward to improvements!
