Today - April 25, 2021

at 12:30 p.m.

Please join us for our Parish-wide discussions

This Sunday we will focus on determining our objectives for St. George's. These objectives are commitments we will make in order to shape our future. These objectives are based on our values, vision, and mission and serve as the inspiration to keep St. George's a solid leader in the community.

As we base these objectives from our values, we will have one break-out session of 20 minutes. The break-out groups will each be assigned a value from the values we have discerned for ourselves. Each group will determine two objectives apiece.

Holy Communion

Under Special Circumstances

We’ll follow the form found on page 396 of the Book of Common Prayer (“Communion under Special Circumstances”), which also includes Confession and a Post-Communion Prayer.

If you did not have an opportunity to pick up consecrated bread and wine, you may wish to pray the prayer below while others are receiving. It’s a prayer for Spiritual Communion that originated in Apartheid South Africa, in another time when the sacraments of the Church were not always readily available.

Jesus, may all that is you flow into me.

May your body and blood be my food and drink. May your passion and death be my strength and life. Jesus, with you by my side enough has been given. May the shelter I seek be the shadow of your cross. Let me not run from the love which you offer But hold me safe from the forces of evil. On each of my dyings shed your light and your love. Keep calling to me until that day comes. When, with your saints, I may praise you for ever.

Amen. (1989 Anglican Church of South Africa)

Prayer: The beauty of our Episcopal tradition and the Book of Common Pray is that even if we cannot gather with our church community, we can pray with our church. We can pray together online. We can pray at the same time. We can pray knowing that somewhere in the world, others are saying the same prayers we are. We can pray knowing that we are always joined in prayer with the company of heaven. When we pray, we are never alone.

Please find the Book of Common Prayer online here if you do not have one at home.

Prayers of the People: Please keep me informed of anyone from the parish that we should add to the parish prayer list. Also, please help me with upcoming birthdays and anniversaries as we update our records so that we as a community hold each other in prayer.

Together: Let us ask God to guide us, Jesus to abide in us, and the Holy Spirit to strengthen us. "God of Grace and God of Glory...grant us wisdom, grant us courage for the facing of this hour." (Hymn 594 - The Hymnal 1982)
