What do you love more? corn or tomatoes?

HI BFM Fans!

I will make this  brief.

No matter what you are cooking, July 4th will be a lovely time to get together in person with friends and family and create a wonderful meal with locally grown foods from our farmers and producers.

I am planning to contribute a big French salade with green and yellow beans and fennel and cukes and tomatoes and new potatoes and eggs with this garlic mayonaise dip (aioli) for our picnic with friends Sunday afternoon after BFM.

We are open Sunday July 4 from 9-1 and we will have overflowing tables of corn and tomatoes and peaches and cherries and all kinds of berries and apricots and the first summer Lodi apples of 2021. Sugar Snap peas and shelled peas, hot and sweet peppers and fennel and new potatoes and beets and tatsoi and bok choy, various cabbages to slaw or grill, garlic, kales, chards, onions, salad greens, zucchini, many varieties summer squash, many different eggplants.

Don’t forget to make Pasta Salads.  Breads and rolls. Many pickles and krauts and kimchi and kombucha. All kinds of cookies- make ice cream sandwiches— and fruit pies. Escarole, frisee, beets, many different radishes, lettuces, salad mixes, arugula, purple mizuna .Spring onions, salads, scallions, carrots, spinach, herbs (basil, parsley, dill, cilantro, thyme, mint, rosemary.

Lots of Pastured meats to grill. Eggs. Lots of flowers.

I highly recommend a thermos of chilled soup for picnics - could be gazpacho or pink beet borscht or cucumber or peach or cherry. I will add more recipes next week too.
